Restaurants are awarded points based on such factors as location, ambiance, staff service, food, wine and value for money. Each judgement refers to the lunch experience of that day and as such is a snapshot in time.
The members of the club attending a meal complete a score card under each category and these are then averaged out to give a total (out of 100) which appears at the end of the critique of the restaurant. These totals are tagged under a star rating system, so that anyone can see at a glance how the restaurants in a particular location are rated.
It is of course a highly personal assessment – you may not agree with us, or the chef may have had an off day, or the wine list may have been depleted – but it is our view of what we want from a restaurant serving a menu del día lunch.
