CAPRI, CALPE 965830614
The restaurant Capri is a Calpe landmark located at the bottom of Avenida Gabriel Míro, overlooking Playa Arenal-Bol, with the imposing Peñon de Ifach in the distance.
We chose to lunch on the terrace which proved to be a great spot for people-watching.
The menu del día costs to be a reasonable €14.95 for three courses including a half bottle of house wine per person, however this does not include VAT/IVA, so the real price is €16.00 per person.
The house wine was from Alicante called Alcanta but our initial tasting resulted in our host kindly trading up to Riojas, a white from Marques de Caceres and a red from Lagunilla.
There was a pre-starter of bacon wrapped dates and cheese croquetas offered by the house a very tasty it was too.
Our selected starters were a goat’s cheese salad and a substantial refreshing prawn cocktail.
For the main course we selected merluza à la Romana, escalope Milanese and grilled breast of chicken, all served with salad and frites. All good safe dishes if not particularly challenging.
Desserts were a home made flan or a fried milk dish with ice cream. The Capri very generously supplied complimentary brandies with our coffee and our total bill amounted to €27.75 p.p.
